24hrs with a HMRC Admin Worker

24 hours with... Faisal Ali
Date: 21st April
Why have you chosen to write about today?

I’ve chosen to write about today as I really wanted to contribute to the project.

Good morning!

What time did you wake up?
I woke up at 8:15am
Why did you wake up at that time?
I woke up at that time because I needed to go to work.

Did you have a dream?
I didn’t have a dream.
Do you think today will be 'good' or 'bad' day? (use your own definition of these words to answer the question)
I felt today would be a good day because I feel like I’ve had a few of those recently. A good day for a day that is at least 95% free from any form of anxiety and bad day would be when anxiety is at it’s peak.

What are the first three things you do after waking up?
When I wake up I first go downstairs to have breakfast, take a shower and then get ready for work.

Do you eat breakfast? If yes, what did you have?
I had breakfast this morning and had cereal.

What would be your perfect breakfast?
Perfect breakfast would be cereal, tea, pancakes and maybe some egg and toast.

Is there anything that you have to do today but don't particularly want to?
At work I had to sort a massive pile of files in alphabetical order. Really didn’t want to do that.

List five things that you do between 9am and noon.
Between 9am and 12 I normally go to work, say hi to people at work, make a cup of tea, sometimes have something to eat and go for a run (but that is normally only on Sundays)

Did you eat lunch? If yes, what did you eat?
I had lunch and had a Subway

What would be your perfect lunch?
Perfect lunch would be a really nice combination of a little bit of fish, chicken, pizza and garlic bread

List five things that you have done, said, thought, or that have happened between noon and 5pm.
Between noon and 5 I have learnt part of a new task at work, offered to buy food or drink for someone who was physically unwell, put the files in alphabetical order, made a coffee and helped a colleague try and find a file.

Do you eat dinner/tea? If yes, at what time?
I eat dinner normally anytime between 8 and 10.

What do you eat?
 I ate cheese on toast.

What would be your perfect dinner?
My favourite dinner is the same as my favourite lunch

What do you do with your evening (5-8pm)?
In my evenings I sometimes go for a run with my running club, go to the gym or go and see my grandad. If not I just try to relax at home, catch up on emails and browse the internet.
Do you have a 'get-ready-for-bed' routine? If so, what is it?
I often read for a while before I go to sleep.

What time do you go to sleep?
I normally go to sleep around 1am.

Is this when you want to go to bed? Or is it influenced by what you're doing the following day?
It is when I want to go to bed.

Do you share your bed?
Don’t share my bed.

Which position do you tend to sleep in? e.g. foetus, starfish etc.
I sleep in the foetus position.

Reflect

What was your favourite part of your day?
My favourite part of the day was seeing my work colleagues as they are really nice and I enjoy spending time with them.

What was your least favourite?
My least favourite was putting the files in alphabetical order.
Did anything happen today that you'd like to change or re-do?
I wish that more people from work joined us for lunch rather than just the 2 of us.
Did you 'learn' anything today? (use your own definition of this word to answer the question)
I learnt part of the new task that I have at work. My definition of learn is you have found out new information which you did not know before.
Are you looking forward to tomorrow?
I am looking forward to tomorrow as it is the last working day of the week before the weekend and looking forward to seeing my work colleagues.
What do you have planned?
Tomorrow I plan to go to work and then go to the gym and possibly play table tennis after that.

Thank you for contributing to the series!

Goodnight!

Below is also a pic of a light which is because I want to try and reflect more and see the bright parts of the day.
